Technical Difficulties...

I had some email difficulties at the beginning of this year but apparently I have been having a few others. About two months worth of emails and photo shoots are not apearing on the customer side of the proof page. So for those of you looking for either your photo shoot proofs or your wedding album proofs please give me a couple days to get this all sorted out. I was just informed by phone that people couldn't see their events so I'm trying to get it all straightened out as quickly as possible!

Joey Austin

I photographed Joey when she was less than a week old and her family called back to me to photograph her now. She's a year and a half and it's amazing how BIG she's gotten! She's a beautiful and sweet young girl who apparently LOVES her shiny beads! I'm glad I brought them along because she had so much fun with them.

So I've decided to get behind my camera more often. Here's a project many other photographers have incorporated into their lives. I'm not going to post every photo here but be on the look out for some of my favorites here! Or you can check them out on my facebook page here. Here are the first two for your viewing pleasure.

Our little Sadie girl is growing up. We've had her for just a little over a month and has grown so much!

Bonnie and Scott are one freakin' AWESOME couple! I mean, part of it might be because I've known Bonnie for a while, but still... I mean look at 'em! We did a combo shoot of some bridals for her and a couple session to celebrate their marriage, which as you can tell is going GREAT! You can truly see how they love and respect each other in the way they interact. Thank you guys for choosing me to photograph you! It was stinkin awesome! :)

Peny Pistola and The Love Burn

Well last month I had the amazing opportunity to hear Penny Pistola and The Love Burn. I got a chance to let Luke, the guitarist know that I was interested in photographing them so I was able to hit up their show at the Jewish Mother later that month. Their music is pretty rockin' if I do say so myself! Great to see a band with a female lead singer to change things up. You should look for their next upcoming shows and make sure you hit 'em up! This show was a bit tough to photograph because JewMa's lights are SO stinkin close to the stage that it would make them glow at times. Anyways, here's some that I really liked!

And I don't know why but I really like this image... Maybe it's the motion that's in it, I don't really know. i just like it!

Sean & Lauren - Married!

Meet Lauren & Sean. Probably the most in love couple I've had. They were awesome to work with. Lauren had this whole day planned down to the T. That was awesome because it lets me know that everyone knows what the game plan is. Between all the family and friends they had one heck of party and one fun day all around!

And once the beats were laid down the awesomeness started!

Lauren and Sean are going to be shooting an After Session since her Bridal session was rained out. And when I mean rained out it down poured! I'm so looking forward to an amazing shoot with them again! Thanks Sean and Lauren for a great 4th of July!

Virginia Beach FOP Shootout

It's snowing!!

So it snowed in Virginia Beach... for once! This was Lexi's first time seeing snow and man oh man does she love it! She ran through it like crazy and ate the snow. She chased snowballs, and dug in the snow. We had a great day in the back yard for the past couple days. I know she'll be sad to see it go. Me to in fact. I hope you enjoyed the winter weather.

Mark & Michelle - [wedding]

What an AWESOME wedding this was! Man do these guys know how to throw down a great party and man do I ever mean it! Chris won the free photo session when I opened my new office. And Boy am I glad he did. I had a blast going on a live set to the short film that he was working on. I got to do some headshots and then a couple promotional shots for him too. Great time with some cool people!

Those of you who know me, know I love dogs. I've been wanting a BIG dog for quite some time as my family has always had small dogs. Well my wife and I got pretty lucky and adopted a lab mix... she might be pure bred but that doesn't really matter to me... Not only did we get to adopt her, but we got to adopt her as a puppy!

For those of you thinking of having your pets photographed you should! Here's a shot of Lexi, our beautiful new puppy.

Christian & Rachel! - Their Wedding!

You might remember Rachael and Christian from before, well now they're back! They got married at Winridge Manor just outside of Lynchburg, VA. And what an AWESOME-STINKING-UBER-COOL wedding it was. Here's just a few to check things out. They are such a great couple and OH so photographic. Check it out!

As you can tell, Rachael looked super beautiful in her awesome gown, and Christian looked rather dapper in his sweet tux. With the help of Amanda Farrell we captured all kinds of awesome memories for them. Thanks for your help Amanda! She's awesome by the way. Check out her stuff.

Leigh - Senior Portraits

I was really excited that Leigh wanted to be one of my Senior Reps. We had a great time in her abso-freakin-lutely gorgeous home - which is ever so conveniently located next to a country club. :) Bonus points for cool locations right there. We also headed out to where the old Duck Inn used to be. I love shooting down there near sunset. Anyways without further rambling here she is!

Trey & Janessa - Married!

This was one of the most fun weddings I've shot yet! I love Trey and Janessa, and how they love each other. It's really quite awesome to see them together. I met Trey through his sister who was a customer of mine when I worked at Starbucks in Lynchburg, VA. They kept the party rolling all night! My favorite picture was of the two of them leaving and it looks like Trey is over the bubbles! It's just one of those funny photos caught in the middle of it all. He was happy when leaving... I promise!

So I'm sitting in Starbucks listen to some Fall Out Boy while Kasey is enjoying her one hour massage that she so desperately deserves as part of our Anniversary celebration. I can't believe it's been a year already. Everyone says the first is the hardest and if that's the truth then man the rest will be a cake walk. I LOVE being married to her. I'm always thankful to come home to her and miss her when we don't see each other all day long.

Meet Raleigh

Those of you who know me know how much I want a big dog, namely a German Shepherd Dog. In comes an old friend of mine who gets one as their first pet after getting married. I've watched Raleigh grow up on Facebook and have told her owners many times how jealous I am of their beautiful pet. When they came back into town I offered to photograph Raleigh so I could meet her. Dang I really want one! BAD!

I think this was the funniest pic of the day. Maybe she was tired of being photographed? It can be a hard day's work!

Lily!!

I had SO MUCH FUN chasing Lily all through out the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. And I do mean chase. We ran all around the place. She loved the water everywhere there and would always want to go check it out. She even bought along two great people, Matt and Amanda - her parents! :)

They are one great family and I hope they enjoy my first attempt at child/family photography. Thanks guys for a great day!

The D300

What a great day it's been. The new website went live, I had the day off from my other job, AND for your photographic benefit, I am the proud new owner of a Nikon D300. Better performance, bigger screen, and better capabilities all wrapped up in a great camera. We'll see how it performs over the next few days. :)

I'm very excited! last night I just put money down on my new website that will be coming soon! Bludomain created and will be hosting the new site. Check them out. If you take a look, Liam is the template I purchased. To any photographers who don't have a website I HIGHLY recommend bludomain. The site isn't up yet, but they have had quick communication with an easy to purchase platform.

Drew Webb of Banding Together

This was one awesome wedding! I've never even been to a military wedding, let alone photographed one. I was so excited to see the fanfare here. You guys have seen Justin and Dianna before on their E-Session, but this is where they tied the not. The turned out to be a cold one so waiting for this shot was absolutely freezing!

Justin and Dianna were busy showing us their dance moves on the floor all night long! They knew how to get down!
This is probably the most dapper and dance happy fella I've seen at a wedding in a while. Once the music started all he wanted to do was be the center of attention. What a good lookin kid!

I felt bad for this Marine. He started getting suited up to find that his hilt was not attached in a way that he trusted. But being as Marines are as resourceful as they are they all got it worked out.

All in all this was just a blast from the beginning to the end. I give my thanks for Justin and his Marine friends for their service to our country. Justin himself has recently served in Iraq and for that I am forever grateful to him. It's guys like him that allow us to have the freedoms we do. Welcome back from the great state of Hawaii guys! I hope you enjoy what you've seen!

Mac & Courtney

I've worked on and off with Courtney now for about a year and a half and it has been my pleasure getting to know her. Mac contacted me several weeks ago asking if I'd be willing to photograph the proposal and I jumped at the opportunity. Courtney had no clue that Mac had already purchased the ring and was not expecting the proposal until at least Christmas. Mac and I and several others helped set everything up. After they had dinner on the James River Foot Bridge where they first discussed their relationship, Mac had a video set up for her to see of pictures of their relationship where he then popped the question! She of course said yes. Mac then had her parents there afterwards to surprise her further! Congrats guys!

Well, there hasn't been too much editing going on until next week. I'll have a wedding and a senior portrait for my good friend Spensir. Right now I'm setting up for another shoot for my roommate/best friend/best mean. He has an old 82 Toyota pickup that he loves. I finally found the location for the portrait I want to do for him before he has to sell Crusty because he has gotten so old. Here is the test shot (with only a tad editing) of the site.
